I got one of these from Marstar the other day and I didn't realize that I need new hardware to fasten it. The top screw go's in fine but the bottom is a bit short. Does anyone know where to get the new screws from??? Maybe someone (Hungry??) knows of a local hardware store that might carry something that works???

The top one is a wood screw and the bottom one is not a comman thread.

I got a bolt and took a grinder to the sides of the head to make it round and then took a hacksaw and made a groove for a screwdriver ...rethreaded the sling swivel to the same pitch as the new longer bolt.

Only took a few minutes

Have the same issue. So what was the dimension of the one from Home hardware ie. lenght and thread size?

I just took mine with me, went through the bins until I found a nut that would screw onto it, noted the thread (metric size if memory serves me right) then looked through the other bins until I found a bolt that was longer than mine and that I thought would work. Took it home and cut a slot in the head for a screwdriver with my hacksaw and that was it. The head was small enough I didn't even have to round it out, it popped through the hole in the pad nicely.

TX will do that. Just not impressed with the vendors that sell this thing. You figure they should provide the proper fitting parts for installation with no hassles without having to scurry around looking for them. Shish!!!! I mean this is not rocket science here, you buy something that is said to fit and should not have to go through this crap.
Just my 2 cents...............

Was yours marketed as fitting a Norinco?

Mine doesn't fit all that well either. It actually looks like an after thought and after the issues with not being supplied replacement screws, I am not happy with the end result. So I have an option of ordering another one and trying to make it fit better or putting the original metal hinged butt plate back on. I think I will do the latter and look for a different pad by another manufacturer. If anyone has any ideas where a guy could find one, please let me know. I like the idea especially the weight savings but would prefer a better designed product.

Not specifically a Norinco but a m14 or m305. The ones at Marstar are supposed to fit Norinco but the buyers have the same issue with the bottom bolt being too short. I got mine from Brownels same thing. Also does not snug up tight in the top cut out of the stock.
