Hi,
Anyone familiar with Norma TAC22? I have seen boxes marked NormaUSA, target grade w 1100fps. I have also seen boxes w/o the USA marking w 1082fps. I read on a US thread that it comes out of RWS factory.
Just wondering if anyone has tried both velocities to see which is more promising. Thanks for looking.

Th stamp on the base of the case looks like RWS.
At $15.00 per box for either variety at Abela'scay is far more than RWS Rifle Match and Special varieties.
It is not the same as the Federal Match that was manufactured by RWS to R50 standards.

Well, we have pricing, etc., but has anyone tested it on the range?

There can't be one answer to the question of how it performs. Generally speaking, it will be better on average than any high velocity or bulk ammo.

Like all similar ammo, however, performance will vary by lot and from one rifle to the next. One shooter can get a lot that shoots well in his rifle, another might get one that performs differently.

I realize all that, thanks, but has anyone shot it and can share their own thoughts.

Targetshootingproducts.com (North Sylva Sports) in ON has it at $69 / brick for those interested.

You may be hoping someone will say "It shoots great so you should buy some."

If enough shooters try it, someone will say that. Others will say, "Meh. It didn't work out all that great. Don't bother buying it."

Buy some and find out for yourself. That's the way ammo is.

Right you are; the way it is. In my original question, I was inquiring if anyone had experience with the two different velocities. Since I have not heard of any testing of either,
I guess I have my answer.

Whatever the various advertising or packaging in the US might indicate, the Norma Tac-22 that seems now available in Canada has a factory-rated nominal MV of 1083 fps. (See the image below.)

It seems unlikely that the factory actually makes two distinct varieties of Norma Tac-22 ammo, one at 1083 fps and the other at 1100 fps.

In any event, it's important to remember that what's most important in standard velocity ammo is not whether it's factory-rated at 1060, 1083, or 1100 fps.

In the normal range of standard velocity ammo, it's not factory-rated nominal MV's that will determine how it shoots. It's cartridge consistency from one round to the next.

It's equally possible for two different ammos with different velocity ratings to both be very accurate.

I will likely be trying my ammo out this weekend. Any particular gun you'd like me to try it out of?

CZ452 Ultra Lux
CZ455 stainless
CZ457 Varmint MTR
CZ 512
Anschutz 54
Savage MKII BTVS
Ruger 10/22 VLEH
Ruger 10/22 stainless takedown
Ruger 10/22 sporter deluxe
Browning BL22
ISSC Scout
Henry Golden Boy
Chiappa Little Badger

I realize every gun shoots differently but it could at least give you an idea.
