I'm considering purchasing a Savage Scout and like everything about the rifle except the (to me at least) oddball front "scout" scope mount. I'm guessing it's possible to remove the rear ghost ring sight and scout mount and install regular receiver mounts without drilling and tapping. I've seen it on the older version of the Savage Scout but not the current one. Has anyone tried it?
