Norwegian 1911?

My father has had one for probably 50 yrs. It had an exaggerated slide release that put the operating surface down near your thumb, but that part disappeared when some early model molded grips went on.

Guns and Ammo just published a milsurp edition mag this month and these are covered in one of the articles. A very good article i must say!

That really is a nice one Koldt, the one I had was great internaly but the finish was really crude. Not from abuse or neglect, just a lot of machine and tool marks with little or no polishing. Looked like it had been parkerised as well. Was an OK shooter at best, but absolutely reliable and seemed sloppy on the rails even though it was basicly new. Bearhunter

yeah, koldt, that was not a slag at all, i just love the fact that you (or others on CGN) always "save the day" when obscure questions like this come up....

Alrighty then:)

I've got an updated set of leather, completed it after about 4 years of searching. Seeing as the Norwegians didn't have much of a standing military before the war, there isn't that much readily available true Norwegian "milsurp" to be found.
I collected it for the interest in my ancestory/heritage.
I've got a complete, full military, Kongsberg Krag 1916 as well, to go with the 1914.. I had pics of it on the board awhile back.

I'd still like to find a complete 1894 Lang Krag. But, I think, that may be impossible.
