Hey folks.

I got ahold of a Krag rifle today*, and to the best of my ability can't seem to quite figure out the exact one.

It's a 1906 with an 81** serial number. Uncut barrel.

What I'm unable to determine, due to someone shopping and reshaping the stock, is whether it is an Engineers/Artillary Carbine, or a Boys Guttekarabin Carbine Rifle.

Yes, I will be posting a pic as soon as my camera charges up.

Anyone who can give me some information would be greatly appreciated.

*I am not looking to sell this rifle currently, please do not just send me a pm asking to buy it. Thanks.

I can help by searching Norwegian sites, pics awaited... :)

Guttekarabin had serial numbers from 1-3321

This site is in Norwegian, but with the actual serial number, you should be able to figure it out.

Looks like Army Engineer Model.

If you can PM me the real serial number I can tell for sure.

Here is the untouched version of the rifle: http://kvf.no/vaapen.php?type=Rifle&weaponid=RIF0099

M/1904 Krag Rifle 6,5x55mm Hæren (Ingeniør) Bolt Years 1906-1908 2750 Made
Serial Numbers: 7781-8530, 9281-10030, 10032-10699, 10700-11031, 11782-12031

M/1906 Krag Karabin 6,5x55mm Private (Guttekarbin) Bolt Years 1906-1919 Made 3321
Serial Numbers: 1-3321

A bit confusing as you said 1906 and SN 82xx. If it is MODEL 1906 it is a Guttekarabin, but serial number place it as a Model 1904.
