Hey Folks,

Going to pick this up tomorrow and hoping to find the resources necessary to restore it to its former glory. Serial number look-up points to M1907 Artillery Carbine, which could make the full restoration difficult/impossible without fabricating at least a few bits myself.

Any links, contacts, insights, ect would be appreciated.

If your looking for stock wood Prestigious Wood stocks has them. Reproduction. Trying to find the metal pieces in Canada is going to be fun. You will likely have to order from the US. SARCO has a good supply of various military surplus parts. Numrich is another possibility. Was looking at that rifle but have too many other rifle rebuilds on the go.

There's an amateurish Youtube series on a guy restoring Krags. One that sticks in my mind was him removing someone's deactivation effort by getting a lead plug out of the barrel. He's not a great gunsmith, but he is determined!

Thanks I’ll check them out! I’ve read about some pretty helpful collectors in Norway that’ll send parts over. A full stock set would be a bit extreme, but a few bands/springs, ect. might be doable.

I haven’t done a rebuild since my buddy’s M96 Swede ~3 years ago, so high time for another.

I think I might have come across a video of his M1912 restoration the other day. I’ll go back in my history and give him a better look - thanks!

Interesting project, keep us informed.

Believe mine is a sporterized M1912 carbine (Rear sight is closer to the receiver.

Nice Krag! Doesn’t look too far off from original spec. You can check the serial number here to confirm your model.
