I know where there is a new old stock versamax tactical sitting. It can be had for 1300$. It has the rail front and back, marked 3” holds seven 2 3/4”. Serial number in the RT62*** range. I’ll attempt to confirm the serial as it’s not in front of me.

Looks like a good deal, but remington arms apparently offers no support on pre 2021 firearms. I’d be on my own with this. Some had poi problems from what I understand.

Yay or Nay??

Owners opinions preferred. I am aware of the other options available. Money on a M2 or 1301 isn’t a issue but the 1300 seems very reasonable…

its a bit bulky compare to the 1301 and m2,as for the support any gunsmith sould have part for then or find parts for them for a while,i sold mine because of the size,1300$ is a good price depending what you will be doing with it ,if its for the range fine if its for self defence go with 1301 or m2 easier to move with them, hope this help.

Thanks for the reply Ryan . I think I will pass on it. I don’t run three gun and have pump guns that fit the bill for defence etc. I think I will wait until I come across a nice M2 field or something similar. Did some searching in the us on pricing and they seem to be holding value well. It’s sitting in a gun shop in Nova Scotia if anyone is interested pm me for the store name if google doesn’t find it for you.

I’ve got both. The Versa max soaks up the recoil better. I can fire any type of round through it and not notice the difference in the recoil where as the 1301

I have a couple versamax tactical’s that have 1000’s of rounds thru them and are extremely reliable. They weigh more than a 1301 and M2 but are softer shooting than both of them with any load. They both shoot about 4” high with slugs

Egads!?

45cat do you have a tactical or a field?

Tactical. I had the original field model when they first came out, dumped it. The forearm could never be fully tightened, drove me nuts. The Tactical doesn’t have that problem. I trust it enough to be my bear gun behind the kitchen door

4” high at what distance? Are the groups reasonable?
