I have a Ruger#1 in 6mm Remington I am taking deer hunting in a couple of weeks.

I have a box of these kicking around and want to load em up for deer.

Any experiences with the 90 gr. ?

I just came back from the range and with 1 of my loads I put 3 shots almost in the same hole at 100 yards.

Nosler 90gr BT
Rem Brass
47gr RL-19
Fed 210 Primer
3.020 OAL

The rifle is a Ruger #1 26 inch barrel with Boss CR...the trigger has been done and forearm has been free floated.

I am going to load up some more but I am going to go with 49 gr of RL-19 for hunting which was still pretty darn accurate.

Next year I am going to explore that 47 gr load some more.

The guy who sold me this rifle said it would shoot 1/2 inch groups at 200 yards with Nosler 55 gr BST's.

Here is the pic...hard to see the 3 bullet holes but they are there...

They should work fine....

Keep your MAX shot to under 300 yards in the boiler and you should be okay. If it is sighted 2.5" high at 100 your PBR(point blank range) should be about 300 yards. This is not fact just some numbers crunched into the RCBS program.

Sure they'll work and you won't have to worry about getting the meat ground up for sausage because the ballistic tip will do it.I used them once in my 270 and the deer looked like i hit it with a hand grenade.By the way nice group.

I use the 90 BT in my .243. Again, shot placement is key, but I'm not going to shoot a deer at 400 yards anyway with that gun. I have taken 4 deer, all one shot kills, and all had nice exit wounds.
