Someone must have used these last fall and taken game with them?????? My question is how did the E-tip perform, did anyone recover a bullet what was the expansion like, fired from what caliber?
Thanks. Bill

shot 1 8x7 bull elk an two deer with 150gr e- tips fro my .308 Winchester the elk I shot once through both lungs fell down got up and I shot him walking away through the top of the back exiting out the bottom of the brisket both bullets were a pass through the elk was dead on the first shot but I shot him again I do not like tracking them. They shoot as well as Barnes bullets and just a accurate.

Just wondering why your interest in the E-Tips ? Personally I've used Nosler BT for quite awhile with devastating performance. Never found any bullet or parts and never a pass through on moose. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I think they exploded inside. Certainly instant death. One night I came across a forum, can't remember the name but it had a few links to some government studies in Wyoming of lead contamination. X rays of donated meat for food banks in the US. Some of the pictures were quite disturbing. Packages of frozen hamburger that was speckled with lead. After that I started looking into copper bullets and have tried Barnes TSX and the TTSX Personally I found they fouled my barrel pretty bad. I'm starting to load some GMX but to be honest, I'm starting to think seriously about the Nosler Accubond. I'll see if I can find those video's but here is a interesting link to check. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=150080

E-TIP bullets are solid copper.

I was short of 180gr partitions and bought the 180gr E-tip they were available locally. I really like the bal tips for target shooting BUT I shot one moose years ago with the 338WM 200gr BT and didn't like the damage to the meat. This coming fall I may try the E-tip for both deer & moose.
