I just read an article by John Barsness (Rifle Sporting Firearms Journal) on the latest rifle offered by Nosler.
The Nosler Model 48 is not going to be a limited run like the Nosler Custom rifle that sold all 500 rifles in about one month.
It will use the same proprietary action as the Custom rifle and will have all the accuracy features that made its predecessor a winner.
It will be chambered initially in the light recoiling .270WSM... other calibers could be available later.
The Model 48 features a lightweight synthetic stock (straight-back recoil) and a medium wieght 24-inch barrel. Total weight on this rifle is only 6.25 pounds.
The Stainless Pac-Nor barrel is custom fitted and lapped. This rifle has the receiver milled for standard base mounts but does not come with a scope. They are using the new "CERAKOTE" finish on all metal parts in these rifles which is supposed to rival titanium nitrite for toughness.
Barsness found his test rifle to shoot sub-MOA easily and he used it successfully on Caribou as well.
This new offering is going to be available through dealers later this year and will be priced at around $2300.00 US.... not bad for custom rifle performance.
I cannot find a picture of this rifle anywhere on the net... maybe one of you guys can?
