So a short while ago, I bought a box of nosler brass for my 6.5 creedmoor. I have been using Nosler brass for quite some time in a few calibers. When I decided to load this box I realized there were only 49 pieces. Lol.. Not the end of the world.
Fast forward 6 months or so and I bought some nosler brass for my 22-250. When I counted them I found out there was 48!! Lol. Still not the end of the world. I called the vendor, and they have a no return policy on reloading components but they said call Nosler.
Well over a month ago,I contacted nosler. I know its only 3 pieces of brass but seriously, there brass is some of the most expensive on the market. I expect to get the quantity advertised. Mistakes happen, but twice in 6 months??
I spoke with someone, said he would get back to me, asked if I could find the box to give him a lot#. I said id look for the one box i knew i still had. Sent thrm an email.
Fast forward over a month no response or anything.
I called again. Got a different lady. Explained. She said she would return my call or email when she looked into it..
Again no response.
I decided today id make one last call. Got another lady, after a brief hold she told me that the first two I talked with were going to look into it. I didnt buy it.
She said "I can see your upset about these missing brass", as she laughed.
I was done!
I will never buy anything nosler as long as I live.
Sorry. Just my rant.

I am curious though. With this happening to me twice in 6 months, it cant be fluke can it?
Anyone else ever get shorted
My peterson and lapua brass is ALWAYS complete sets.

I've never had this happen to me, but I have on different occasions emailed Nosler on certain things and never got a response. I feel they make a good bullet but way over priced.

Pretty sure Nosler brass is simply rebadged after being manufactured by someone else....Lapua?

Pretty sure their weight sorted stuff is actually Norma.

I've gotten 101 and 102 pieces in a few boxes of Lapua now. Just used the extra as calibration cases for my annealer.

I've never had issues with Nosler. I've been reloading their bullets since 1982 and their brass for the past 8 or 10 years. Truth be known, I've never counted the amount of bullets or brass that arrived in their box. If a box of brass or bullets was short by one or two, well, there are more important things to worry about. Nosler has served me well over the past 36 years of reloading, their bullets and brass never failed me.

For the price you pay for anything nosler there sould be an extra piece of everything, a coupon for a hot-dog, and it should be delivered by a top-model.

It'S not so much the missing piece that's worrying, it's the fact that if a company doesn't have enough quality control that the quantity is off by 2%, why should you trust them that the weight of their bullets won't be off by the same amount?

On a side note, if I buy a box of 50 brass and a plano case for 50 rounds, I don't need to count to find out a piece is missing. There will be a free spot.

You are right. Its not a lot to worry about. But I will support manufacturers who fullfill there advertised quantity. Nosler may be nice brass but other brands are as good and they dont short me. Theyll get my business. Its a no brainer

Missing two pieces is actually 4%. And you are exactly right. My plano cases have empty spots. Heck Peterson brass even sends there brass in a plano case. Lol

When I said that if my lot# was shorted that everyone would have the same The lady at nosler said a lot of those items are hand counted.

Actually Lapua brass and bullets are a bargain compared to Nosler, Berger etc. Hornaday is still reasonable though.

Suggest try the small rifle primer 6.5 Creedmore brass from Lapua, use CCI-450's and watch those groups shrink.

The funny thing is if you buy anything from amazon and something is missing, they'll send it to you asap. I bought a bunch of stuff, including a few boxes of protein bars, and one of them was missing 2 (out of 6). One email later I had a whole new box coming my way.

Amazon should sell nosler brass.

A simple fix. Use a digital counting scale. That is how I do it. Way less issues, now I will admit I did short a client 2% the other week as I didn't use the scale correctly as I had a brain fart. I made it right.

That being said, I banished hand counting out of the shop a few years ago as it caused too many issues. I fill a plano case with a 100 piece sample and then go from there. Then I add 2%. It is a pretty simple formula, and it works well as long as I don't screw it up.
