so I got my first samples in the mail late last week......first impressions are that they are damn ###y....that meplate could not possibly get any smaller.
I got 2 flavors to play with, the 105 grain 6mm and the 70 grain .224, of which they both share the same ###iness
so far the base to ogive measurements are very close, as is the overall length, while sorting them it seamed pointless but then there it was....a very short bullet that didn't fit in the group at all....so guess what...they are just like Berger in regards to every box holding a surprise waiting to be found, so yet again a near perfect quality match bullet that still needs to be sorted for the holy grail group searchers....
t much snow to play with the 6mm at distance so that will wait, loaded 80 of the .224's up over H322 and will test them today, general findings down south is that they either shoot or they don't so it boils down to rifle versus rifle, with that said it seams that bullet seating depth is all over the map with some claiming the longer the jump the better the accuracy....I didn't know where to start...so 5 thou jump it is.
The bearing surface is shorter, so when seating to the ogive the base of the bullet is farther up the neck, to achieve the same velocity of a competitors bullet it is said that a extra 0.3 grains of powder was required...well since I have no other data to compare my .233 to that won't matter today, but when the 6br gets to test them I will run the crony to see what the barrel says.....
soooo...........who else has their grubby little fingers on these babies so far???
