Hey Rimfire gurus,

I am interested in seeking out and obtaining a 22 I used to shoot when I was a kid. It was "mine" but got sold one summer I was away

It had a tube magazine under the barrel - held about 14 shots tightly packed - the wood stock had a rabbit engraving, with some small checkering.
bolt action repeater.

Any idea who the mfg might have been? (I have asked my relatives - no one remembers)

I am guessing browning, lots of good times shooting that 22, I would love to find another like it for nostalgic reasons.

Back in the early or mid 70's my brother used to have a Cooey with the rabbit engravings. I think it was a model 600 and it was a little fancier looking then my model 60. I don't think they made them that way for very long. I would have actually bought it from him at the time if I knew he was going to be selling it.

Its likely a cooey/winchester model 600. In 1961 old man Cooeys son died and he sold the company to Winchester. Once the inventory of model 60s were sold they changed them to a model 600. In later years before they sold to Lakefield in 1979 they made models such as you describe. I have a copy of 1967 cat shows your rifle.S/b lots of the 600s around, try this forums exchange in a WTB ad. Any gun shows should have them. One in premium shape should fetch $100.-----Cowboy
