Hi all

Here is a couple of pics of my last project. 2 stocks made for a Savage in 308. This is what took me away from making Lee Enfield stocks from scratch.

Both stocks are made from Russian Birch plywood, the same stuff that the SKS's laminates are made of.

Holy.....wow.........I wish I had such skill! :yingyang:

(So does the sportered SMLE I bought so long ago, sitting, waiting to be restored )

Keep up the amazing work! :dancingbanana:

I used water-based stain (Saman) 2 part Walnut 1 part black, and Krylon acrylic lacquer in a can, 6 or 7 coats.

Next project will be fitting my new-to-me 1918 SMLE into the set of wood I made for my 1942 SMLE, which does not shoot well.

Thanks Bob. I'll soon be working on a combination gun which needs work - I know who to call for advice! :)
