So I received a phone call this afternoon from the manager at Wanstalls who had been made aware of the issue. In a very polite and calm manner he acknowledged the mistake that was made and apologized many times for it having occurred. He said that the wrong firearm had been sent and Wanstalls would be willing to remedy this problem by either refunding the entire amount that I paid and provide for return shipping at no cost to me, or reimburse me for $125 in order to account for the $600 price tag + a $25 discount due to the inconvenience of this whole scenario.

Wanstalls has proved that they are an exceptional business dedicated to providing the best in customer service as they have proactively called me to remedy the situation, and I am now a satisfied customer who will be returning.

For those of you who have been whining, telling me how I should have just called them and shut my mouth, you fail to realize that we're living in the age of information. This is not a bad thing. It is transparency like this that will separate the bad businesses from the exceptional. Both the consumer, as well as the business learn from these types of scenarios - the business grows to become more experienced and as perfect as they can be, and the consumer learns to become more careful and cautious with their hard earned money. This leads to increased competition and better service and prices for everyone.

I understand many of you feel we should be supporting the great businesses we have, but covering up mistakes is not support.

So I just received the Taurus Raging Bull 44mag 6inch model that I had purchased from you guys and I have a few complaints.

I decided to go on your website and noticed that you guys had a used model Raging Bull 44mag for sale. This was advertised at a price of $700. The picture looked good and did not show any visual imperfections on the gun. However, I still called in asking if the gun was in tip-top condition given that a new one can be found for only $99 more. I was willing to pay $700 for a used Raging Bull because the advertisement stated that the gun had
Hi-Viz sights on it and the gun was said to be in very good condition.

The man I spoke to on the phone said the gun was in very good condition and only contains a mark or two that are not scratches and can be easily buffed out. Anyway, so when the gun came in, I was disappointed to see that those scuff marks are everywhere on the gun - the satin bead blasted finish has been rubbed off so the only way to restore it is to bead blast it again. This was not too big of a concern, but I also noticed that the gun had a price tag on it indicating a price of $600 and it contained no Hi Viz sights whatsoever. Just the regular black sights were on the gun. It did not come with the key lock in order to lock and unlock the hammer, and 3 out of the 6 chambers have more play than the others.

I don't know how old this gun is or how many rounds have been fired through it, but this has been a very disappointing purchase. I was led to believe things about the firearm the simply were not true. Maybe I was given the wrong firearm? and you guys really do have a $700 Hi-Viz sights Raging Bull, but the one I got is nowhere near worth $700.

Why are you posting this....contact Wanstalls first and if they do nothing about it then post it here.
They will take care of you I am sure.
 
The complaints are valid. However you should always contact them before resorting to post this on a public forum. It seems that someone mailed you the wrong firearm. Does the serial match the one that was transferred to you? Hopefully they still have the one you ordered, but I'm sure they will make it right. Let us know the outcome, good or bad.
 
I also had a bad experience with them. They get stock and I spend too much money. Please do me a favour and stop getting stuff.

Question: did you call them before posting?
 
I figured this is the venue people use to voice their comments or concerns given this is a forum after all. Since it is Wanstalls' own forum, i figured I would be speaking directly to them.

It is, and you are, but if you post here without contacting the business for redress first, it is perceived that you're just trying to shame the business publicly, and not trying to resolve your issue. I've done business with Wanstalls several times, and I strongly believe they will make things right if you talk to them directly.
 
He got a reply in four minutes, probably took ten minutes writing that post up. Probably could have been resolved in two minutes over the phone. I'm sure they will make things right, sounds like the wrong gun was shipped?

Agreed, jumping the gun, no pun intended.

You wrote an honest review of your first experience and impressions, it just happened to be sh!tty. Didn't sound like ranting or bashing at all.
 
This sounded like a reasonable criticism of the service he received.

Hey, if a vendor can handle every aspect of selling a gun - marketing, ordering, payment - without talking to me, it isn't unreasonable that they can fix this without talking to me.

Yeah but I think its in bad taste to write a bad review like this before contacting the company. If it were me and I felt inclined to still post my bad experience I first would have contacted Wanstalls which I have no doubt would have made it right. Then I would have come on here and posted and excellent review for Wanstalls...you could have still told the story about how they sent the wrong gun, poorly advertised, or whatever but in a positive light. That way everyone wins, your a happy customer, you still get to post your experience, Wanstalls gets a good review for fixing the issue and you don't sound like a whiney #####. On the flip side if they don't answer your emails, refuse to fix the problem, etc...that would be the time to post a bad review like this and include how you tried to solve the problem but they weren't willing to work with you.
