Hey guys just wondering if I could get some honest opinions on a purchase? mostly been a duck and goose guy but was thinking about a rimfire since I have never owned one. Anyway I was wanting opinions on the Remmie 597 Mag like how reliable it feeds and shoots. Would like the magnum but if not may also consider a 10/22 in 22lr. Really like the semis. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

What were you going to use it for mostly?? You really can't go wrong with the ruger of course and the 597 isn not a bad choice either but I would go ruger first.

Thanks for the reply,It would be used mainly for punchin holes in paper but maybe a few small game hunts here or there. So you figure the 10/22 would be the best bet eh? Gonna check one at the dealer next time I'm in the city.

ya I sold my 597 and still own my 10/22. I have to check what smal game I can take locally with my .22 as well. I would love to take chicken with it since they are trotting along the ground anyhoo...

I'd go with a good used 10/22. I like my 597, but just take the 10/22 out more. It's easier to find 25 and 30 round mags for the 10/22 as well.
