This parade on the Red Square was conducted while the Germans was less than 100 kilometers away from Moscow.

Old fashioned and outdated military equipment apparent at this parade.

Marching past Lenin's tomb in the Mausoleum...

... and Lenin's body wasn't even there. ;)

Twas a brilliant plan on Stalin's part to rally the troops to hold the Germans off Moscow.... well... General Winter helped a little too. :p

Haven't had a chance to watch the video yet.
Nov.7 is the anniversary of the revolution, I believe. I assume that is what the parade is for.
Nov.6 /43 is the anniversary of the liberation of Kiev,Ukraine. There was a big parade on Saturday. I am trying to find some video of that.

Over 8 million Russian soldiers died while fighting the German invaders.

Over 3 millions of those Russian soldiers died while in German captivity from mass executions, forced labor, starvation etc etc. Less than 1 million Russian soldiers survived German captivity, and after their liberation, often had to face harsh Russian military justice for having surrendered to the Germans.

A massive US "Lend Lease" to Russia saved and ensured Russian/Allied victory, and thus without doubt saved among others, Canadian soldiers lives.

Over 26 million Russians died during the German invasion of Russia.

According to the German Red Cross, over 1.3 million German soldiers, captured alive by the Russian Military, are still unaccounted for....

tit for tat eh?

then you have the 1.5-3 million soviet citizens/subjects that served the german armed forces.

As a shock to Stalin and his cronies, many soveit citizens welcomed the German soldiers as liberator from the Communist dictatorship, and and because of that, these unlucky people were after WW2, deported internally within Russia (Seberia) for many years after the defeat of the German invaders.

The more I look into the US "Lend Lease" help to Russia during WW2, the more the Soviet looks like a proxy to the US, by taking the brunt of the fightings against the Germans ?

"Lend Lease" was not that importent to the Russian Victory in the war. Germans already lost the war in 1941 at the gates of Moscow.
Lend lease" rather should be called Soviet gold for supplies

you mean the gold that the spanish republicans send to the soviets?

it is doubtful that the soviets could have taken berlin without lend-lease without which the red army would have been barefoot (literally, and walking with supplies being carried by men and horses). don't confuse this with a german victory though.

1:27, lend lease US helmets,or Russian? I don't get this 'welcomed as liberators' line, it has been recorded that the Einsatzgruppen were going around demanding so many kilograms of gold and silver in a given community for example, this was raised by the fearful citizens the first time, then they would go away, ppl thought 'phew, glad that's over with', the fun :( resumed when they returned for double the first amount of gold and double the first amount of silver. Welcomed as liberators indeed, I wonder if the IHR types started that bs rumour.

:onCrack:pro-Axis truthers are my favourite conspiracy theorists. :jerkit:

Yes it was. The lend lease program with the U.S. was near vital.
I don't know the % stats off hand but generally it was something like 40% or more of supplies, planes, tanks, etc etc were from the Americans.

On the basis of those documents, the Soviet Union received 18,763 aircraft, 11,567 tanks and self-propelled guns, 7,340 armored vehicles and armored troop-carriers, more than 435,000 trucks and jeeps, 9,641 guns, 2,626 radar, 43,298 radio stations, 548 fighting ships and boats, and 62 cargo ships. The remaining 75 percent of cargoes imported into the USSR consisted of industrial equipment, raw material, and foodstuffs. A significant portion (up to seven percent) of supplies was lost during transportation.
