Novak Sight Tool

Hello, I am looking for a Novak Sight Tool for my 1911, I wanted to adjust it without damaging the sights or slide. Does anyone know where I could find one of these to make adjusting my sights easier and less damaging then the traditional way of forcing it with tools?

I've adjusted the windage on many of my pistols with a brass punch. You can cover the end that strikes the sight with masking tape or a thin cloth-type material for extra protection against scratches. You can also tape up the areas of the slide surrounding the sight so as not to scratch that up either if you accidentally "miss".

Once you're done, if there are small or faint brass marks for any reason, use a metal blue pen, colour over the brass marks until they're gone, and wipe clean.

This is what I do all the time without any issue. But again, that's me...others will certainly have a different approach.

I just can't seem to get the sight to move after removing the screw. The sight stays right where it is, I have been banging on it with some rubber tools to try and get it to move it slightly to the left, but no luck. Does anyone have any pointers on getting it to move?

Sometimes loctite is used under the sight for added retention.
This may be tough to initially break free...if you warm it up with a heat gun a but it may solve your issue.
If your finish is a 'painted' type...use a hair dryer to not damage the finish.
Masking tape as Strider007 mentioned is what I do as well...a couple pieces of an old leather belt for the slide in the vice will prevent marking it.

Thanks, I will try and do that. The finish is Cerakote (Colt Rail Gun). That should work fine with a heat gun I believe?

Just go easy with it....it doesn't need to get that hot to soften any loctite if it's there
