A guy on Gunboard saw 4 of theses,mine included, and the highest serial# he saw was in the 700's, mine is 631 with Ar prefix. The guy suspect that less than 1000 were made in 1945.That's cool!

The peak production of the SVT 40 was likely in 1941, only 262 000 were supposed to have been built in 1942, its like 717 rifles/day and production decreased even more in 1943,1944.That is actually quite a low number for a manufacturer. Savage made over a million No. 4 rifles in just under three years. That's averaging about a thousand a day, with peak production likely higher.
