Noveske N4 16" midlength low profile

I wasn't criticizing just to be a jerk I was just stating the fact that if at 50 yards thats the best that barrel can do they can keep it. I have no doubt with the rifle properly benched and a experienced shooter behind the gun the thing will do wonders. I would buy one in a second but since its a range only gun I can't justify it though someday I might break down and get one anyway.

May I suggest (without getting "s**t" on too badly)...

Those who know anything about AR's and barrels and accuracy will tell you that you DO NOT expect to get good accuracy (forget great accuracy) out of 55grain white box ammo. You buy cheap ammo so you can shoot cheaply... if you want to go for accuracy then you go out and buy a sampling of the absolute best ammo offerings you can find... you get the gun setup in as good a rest as possible to eliminate outside influence... find a really good day with as little wind as possible to eliminate that outside effect... and then you test to find out what ammo your barrel likes best.

Once you've determined that... then you see what the gun will actually do.

Comments above asking "if that's the best it can do" are just simply stupid given the info that the owner posted about just starting to try the gun and the type of ammo used. With the right ammo that Noveske will outshoot your XCR all day long (I know I'm going to hear someone out there tell me I'm full of it but what the heck... I haven't stirred up any hornets nests today so lets take a chance :)).

The reason some people pay more is to get more... the Noveske has a pretty good barrel system. It was a very nice gun. I personally like my LMT's and own several. Having said that I was impressed with the quality of the Noveske... well built... very nicely finished... nicely packaged. Personally I'd put my money into an LMT but that's me... I don't care as much about "finish" as some people... I demand performance and reliability... I've put my LMT's through a lot... they aren't pretty but they do perform (as their advertisements say).

At the end of the day, however, if you want the ultimate in accuracy (and you're a civilian with a semi-auto AR) then going the route of chrome lined is not really the best choice. Stainless gives the best accurcay... the barrel may not last as long as Chrome Lined but honestly, if you're going to shoot that many rounds and demand the best in accuracy then the cost of replacing the barrel every few years is the cheapest part of the deal.

Just my .02 cents worth...

Let the "games" begin

Brand whores eat 'em up,and i used to hate those guys.

Well I would hope it would outshoot my xcr its supposed to get Sub MOA while my XCR is a one MOA rifle period. With the right ammo that rifle should shoot better than most shooters are able to and certainly better than I can manage.

hey Mark at Questar, will you become a future source for all Noveske stuff? Would like a Leonidas

Much of the Noveske product line is not eligible for export under current US State Department restrictions... in fact a lot hasn't been for quite a while. We were able to get a permit some time ago for some of their product with some restrictions.

We have a few more customer 3rd party exports we'll be doing and then that's it.

We have no plans to handle the Noveske line... frankly there's not enough demand for it and with current State Department restrictions very little will now be exportable once our curent permit expires.

whats the approxiamate time line before your permits expire? Can you get the Leonidas in at all?

Still not sure why people think these are expensive. Pick any new AR off the shelf that you want, it'll run you $1200-1400 depending on manufacturer. Then add a quality free float rail, tango down pistol grip, Vltor stock, Troy sights front and rear, Vortex flash hider, taxes and all the shipping and tell me what your final cost is. All of these items come stock on the N4's and are included in the price.

Now add to that the most durable barrel currently on the market and tell me it's not worth it. Wish I had the cash, I'd pick up the basic version in a heartbeat.

Your right, that is a GREAT deal IMO.

I suppose that's a good point if you're into the whole 'accessorizing' thing. :)
