Now What?

Buy once cry once, while I have a Win 1873 in 357/ 38 it was pricey but it shoots and cycles like a dream. It’s not a carbine but I am considering a carbine in 44 and I wouldn’t think twice about another Winchester.

Pistol conversion kit.

Semi auto, 10 round mags, as reliable as the native pistol is. Some can take multiple different guns (just need different adaptors for the beavertail).

Depends on the purpose, your budget and what you like to see in your lever (tacticool or traditional look). Also depends if you're looking for ranch hand or carbine or rifle, not every brand offers you all options and calibers. For occasional plinking Turks prob will be fine. But likely will not work great if you want to put a lot of lead down the range or if you plan to compete. My scale from worst to best in terms of quality (but not in terms of design and appeal) is like this:
Turkish levers -> Chiappa -> modern Rossi/Cidatel/Heritage -> Marlin and Henry -> S&W
