hey guys,

just got a np-28 on ee and i wanna get new trigger and some parts for it but i have no idea where i can find parts to fit a double stack.

any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I just want to replace those awful stock grips. But not sure if standard 1911 ones will fit. Heard something about screws not being long enough or to short

i would think too long? thats my guess, i would just file the screw down and use thread lock lol.
god i cant find parts anywhere.

Tagged for interest. Also have a NP28 and have shot it a lot. Still 100% factory but would love to know what options I may have.

I had one about 6 or 7 years ago. The trigger on it was Awful! I couldn't find any "drop in" replacements as parts of it's trigger group was proprietory as I recall. I ended up having the trigger replaced by "Dark International" who did a great job. I don't recall having any problems replacing the grips with some wood ones that I picked up. I beleive I used the Norinco screws. In all honesty I would have been further ahead buying something else, which I did after slicing my hand open on it's razor sharp edge. One of the Norinco 1911's might be feasable if all the parts swap out but the N-28 with it's proprietory magazine and trigger group can turn into a money pit and eat up what you saved.

I have the NP29 and did my own trigger job, YouTube is your friend. Not sure if internals are much different between 28 and 29 but I turned my terrible gritty trigger to decent feel by simple polishing and smoothing the all the contact and rubbing metal parts. I also replaced the trigger with one that has stainless smooth bow. If you parts, marstar has all the 1911 parts you need for your norc 1911s, but they are some Norc parts though.

I upgraded mine with a caspian grip safety, just filed away the bits that got in the way of the NP29 frame cuts. I used a regular wilson 1911 trigger shoe (the one with two pins holding it to bow) and the NP29 bow itself to make a "custom" trigger - super simple for the DIY'r though. I used regular 1911 "slim" grips, but think that the screw threads are metric, so didn't even try replacing those. It is a bit of an odd duck but fits my hand pretty good. Almost converted it to 40 - bersa mags apparently fit and possible sig. Remained of project is on back burner for now, but don't mind sharing details on what i've done to date if the above doesn't make sense...

Re the NP28. Most of the trigger parts, sear, hammer etc are 1911 . Being a hi-cap frame,
the actual trigger is bigger than a 1911 single stack so just smooth the stock one.
The mainspring housing is a standard 1911 and a better main spring helps
the trigger pull.

The grips are standard 1911 , however , on the ones that I have seen the Norinco
screws go right into the frame. No grip screw bushings and metric threads .

As far as I know, Para double stack parts will not work.

i wanted to switch out my mainspring and hammer which isnt a problem. but i wanted a skeleton trigger and i cant find one anywhere.

I know it is an old thread but thought I would let any NP 28 owners know that the Caspian Trik Trigger for their Hi Cap frames can be made to fit the NP 28.

The trigger bow is too tall / high and needs to be machined and filed quite a bit to fit in the frame slots but the width of the trigger bow is correct for NP 28 mags.

Good to know. Thanks

Given the amount of metal I removed to make the safety fit, I'm surprised that the Caspian triggers works too!
