NP 29 finally arrived

My Norc NP29 finally arrived after sitting on the Marstar shelves for almost 2 months waiting for the CFC and the Ont CFO to do their jobs.

It seems quite soldily built and doesn't rattle too much, but before I even opened up the plastic case I was met by the smell of tire rubber, which turned out to be the wrap around grips. While they are OK, I will likely replace them with simple wooden slab grips which I prefer. I hope I can find a pair with nice wood grain.

All in all, a great buy, but the true test will come when it is fired.

Do you have a Canadian source for wooden grips because I'm planning on putting some on my NP29 as well?

Without making any comment about the appearance of the grips, you really should try shooting the pistol with them on, before you replace them.
I have obtained a supply of MetalForm magazines for mine. The single magazine that accompanied the pistol left a lot to be desired. Close to 300 rounds through mine, it is a very good shooter. Certainly a good buy.

I have to admit that Tiriaq is right in that the rubber grips work well for me.

I just want the look of wood grips. Usually I'm a form over function kinda guy, heck I chopped 5" off the barrel of my .375 H&H.

But for my NP-29, I want brown wood, diamond checkered stocks.

Mine shot pretty well out of the box. The best thing I did to it was get an oversized bushing and fit it fairly tight to the slide/barrel. Tightened my groups up considerably. I also dropped a 38super barrel in her and it runs like a champ with it.

YES, there is a place right outside of Toronto that does internet orders also.
I am sure that they will have something that I will like.
Their site is dixongrips and there is a .com there. (now the mods won't be pissed)

I am going to take the offered advice and shot it with the smelly rubber first, but I will likely put slabs on it.
