I recently picked up a brand new still wrapped in the bag NP-29 from another member who had gotten it from a sponsoring dealer.
I own quite a few guns and I never thought I would have to ask a noob question like this. Aren't 1911's double action? or is my NP-29 defective?
When the hammer is down and I pull the trigger nothing happens. The trigger doesn't even move, it's locked. If I #### the hammer it will release as normal when the trigger is pulled.
An empty mag is in the well, the safety is off, the hammer is down, I assumed like with most of my other handguns, when I pull the trigger in that state it would raise the hammer and then release it.
The last time i used a 1911 was 3-4 years ago, it was my buddies Springfield mil-spec. I do not recall if that was the case with that gun.
