Yeah that's not going to happen. My NP29 did have a nice finish otherwise it was a pos. Tool marks everywhere and just rough overall. They didn't even cut the feed ramp properly so it wouldn't feed from the magazine into the chamber.

Had an NP58, it liked only 1 bullet shape, or it would not feed; replaced it with an all steel jericho; it eats everything.
I have a really nice Nork 1911 in full satin Chrome with target sights, and a NZ 85 with a satin chrome slide and blued frame. Both are exceptionally well finished compared to some of the all blue earlier examples. Both are fine shooters. Factory grips on the 1911 were great; checkered hard rubber, but I replaced them with checkered rosewood; nice looking combo. The NZ85 now has CZ75 rubber overmolded grips and that made it a very capable pistol. The satin chrome seems durable; but shows GSR, so I clean with oil and a tooth-brush.
It sounds like you have two nice shooters. I have found the same thing with the NP22 slide, I cleaned it and applied a light coat of oil to mine as well.
