NP58 357 conversion? Anyone done this?

Hey folks. I can't find any literature on this via the inter weeb.

The Norinco NP58 (sig P226 copy/clone) in 40cal S&W.

Has anyone done a 357 sig conversion?

It's my understanding this can be done with a 357 barrel drop in - and (unconfirmed) spring change.
The mags will hold both rounds.


I know in theory it SHOULD work.
Just wondering is anyone actually has done this?

I routinely do this with my Glock 31. Mags are the same, so is the extractor. I just drop in my 40SW barrel and guide rod. I assume that the spring rates are different to compensate for the difference in power between the two cartridges but haven't tried 40 with the 357 spring. Its an easy change, at least with my glock.

This can be done with a sig P226.

The question pertains to a clone of the P226 (the Norinco NP58) and the compatibility.
