Hi there, I placed an order for the Ruger American Ranch Gen2 223/556 back on November 20th which is past the November 15th import deadline. Since the title mentions that it is "In Canada December", are you somehow fast-tracking orders for the Ruger American Ranch Gen2 223/556 and getting them into Canada during December?

Ordered and paid. But I feel that the shipping cost was way too high at almost $70 considering it is just one province over. Should be no more than $50 from my own experience.
We always hear that shipping is expensive, but it's in the numbers not in the feelings. Parcel (8 lb) 47in x 9in x 3in going to V1Y 2E8
Adult signature required $3, CAD oversized package charge around $15-$30 depending on peak season/type, and insurance, I would quote $87 CAD. See below from the Canada Post website.

I paid for a Mini 30 only $33 shipping the last time I ordered from them. That was 2015, sure, but still a big difference. I never do insurance, they should give you the option. Also paid $33 2 years ago for a RIA featherlight
Alot is changed in 10 years, the shipments were insured back then as well. Due to the sheer volume the shipments are automated and run through Canada Posts API. Most of the labels are printed before the packages even get to Canada.

Being that as it may, Canada Post is an unhappy wild card and $29.00 buys peace of mind, specially this time of year.

If you have so much volume, why are you still using CP and not UPS like the rest?

I doubt you could deliver the above mentioned shipments for $33 including insurance. CP insurance prices went up a little bit but not by that much.

It should be a hint when everybody is complaining about your shipping cost.

Wish everyone would stop using CP

I order a lot of stuff from rockauto in the US. Never had a problem, 4 to 5 days to my door by UPS, shipping $20 to 25 Canadian dollars for normal shipments. I am not sure what irunguns is doing right or wrong but why should a company like this (high volume) pay the same price as you and me. Just doesn't make sense.

I shipped an undersized (less than 40”) rifle and with signature if came to $65 - B.C. to PEI. Huge cost is the fuel surcharge (up to $20ish) and oversized (up to $30)

Why would Canada Post require insurance? What could happen to the package? Are they incompetent? If they are running their operation properly there would be no need for it. If something happened to it while in their care they should be responsible for it.

If you are connected to Canada Post API, it should not be a problem to show shipping costs before the order is placed.

Why are you not doing this?

On another note, please delete my postal code from your shipping calculation above, thank you.

I guess thats a fair statement until your package is lost or damaged, to which the insurance is there to address that issue.

Think of it this way, If you don't insure your car and something happens to it, its call JP. Just Pay to fix it/replace it yourself.

Unfortunately, it happens more than we care to mention, specially this time of year when Canada Post hires extra help. As for your UPS they will not ship to PO boxes so we don't use them.

On another note, we don't have the luxury of including the shipping costs or building it in to the sale of your purchase.

That said, you pay the same price that every US customer pays when they buy it here in the US, there is no Canadian markup, and 9 times out of 10 there is a substancial $$$ savings.
