So when I eventually move back to Ontario next year from NJ, does my current NRA Instructor Certification's in the US (Rifle, Pistol, Range Officer) provide any value for any Instructor Certifications in Canada ? Does it help ?

Thanks,
Ed

A associate of mine has taken the NRA law enforcement instructor training courses and it has been recognized by the CFO in Ontario for training purposes in the private sector....

No. I was told by NRA HQ that due to ITAR NRA instructor credentials are NOT valid in Canada...

Hi,

Yes it does help. But it depends on where you are and what you are trying to do as an instructor. Any documented training you do helps build on experience as an instructor. Each range, CFO, province, police academy has a way of looking at things, so it is varied as to what is recognized. You have to remember that the N.R.A. is the oldest recognized and organiized organization in North America for training standards, that are copied by most other groups. Continue to gain as much experience and training as you can towards your goal. Remember to always be a student first, as what you learn can always help you be a better instructor and be passed on to your students. Good luck.
