That is a beautiful animal and with a rack like that it's a once in a lifetime kill - if your lucky.
At 225 lbs it is a big whitetail for sure. I’d love to get one like that in my sights. Having said that, the photo does present the deer in a disproportionate size to the hunter – making it look even bigger than it is. By positioning himself as far back as possible with fully outstretched arms and grasping the antlers the illusion is created – like so many photos we’ve seen of fish similarly held. His boot is on about the same plain as the deer head. Compare the boot size with the deer head and the size of the hands on the antlers. That gives an idea just how much out of proportion the rest of the photo is.
