Hi,

I'm interrested to get the USP custom sport. Apparently, it comes with a O-ring barrel. My question is, what is it, and what is it for?

thanks;)

To attach a suppressor :D ...or a legal muzzle brake, perhaps. So, for us it's just for looks. My friend has the USP Tactical .45 with the same o-ring barrel. It's cool.

Actuall the threads on the end on the barrel of the Tactical and Mark 23 are for the use of a suppressor.
The O-ring acts to 'lock-up' the end of the barrel to the frame,( i.e. like the
bushing used on a non-bull barrel 1911...) and thus aids in accurracy. ;)

Yeah, the custom sport has no threads on it for a sound suppressor (but apparently comes with a couple o-rings/match barrel), so i figured it should be something else.

thanks

my USP Match barrel has the o-ring but is not threaded like the MK23s, i don't know if its the length or the o-ring, but it 'feels' more accurate than the regular USP barrel

I've seen differing reports.... some say the O-ring does not help much where accuracy is concerned. But, it certainly can't hurt!

I've owned a bunch of USPs as well as a couple of Mark 23s. The USP Expert was the most accurate for me.

The USP Custom Sport doesn't have an o-ring barrel.

It's a regular USP with a match trigger & adjustable sights.

I believe that the only USP's with the O-Ring are the Tactical, the Expert and the Elite (if they're still around), as well as the Mark 23.

EDIT:Forgot the Match as well:redface:
