O/U noob question

I just got a hold of a 30 year old O/U which has not been fired in 20 years. When the action of the gun is open or closed without having been fired, it is very easy to do and opens under its own weight of the barrels. How ever if it is fired, particularly if two shots are fired it is quite difficult to open the action up and eject the shells. Is this normal and if not, should I oil a particular spot on the gun to smooth things out?

That is normal, you are recocking the hammers. Without knowing what make and model you have, I would suggest removing the forearm , and stock and give it a good clean and lube.

Hard to say. It could be that the firing pins are not retracting and are dragging when you try to open it. Are there drag marks on the spent shells? Could be the brand of shell,maybe the cases are swelling a bit. Did you try a different brand. Put a little grease on the hinge pivot where it meets the forearm and see if that helps.
