Hi guys,
Looking for an entry level o/u 12gague shotgun, would like auto extractors and adjustable chokes.....I'm quite new to shooting clays, using a baikal currently, but willing to spend a little more...around 700$..please any recommendations which models to look for....many thanks.

Every now and then you an pick up a Yildiz or Milano, Lanber, etc for under $800, but you have to be quick.
These guns tend to be a bit light for high volume shooting but for 4 rounds of trap or skeet a weekend they do okay.
Auto extractors? you mean ejectors, right?

Find a used Beretta 686 or Browning Citori that fits you. Otherwise, stick with what you have. Cheap O/Us are simply not built tough enough to sustain the kind of punishment associated with high volume clay shooting.

Move up to the Baikal sporting - it has some nice features. I have several over and unders - Brownings, Mirokus, Berettas, Win 101's ... The Baikal sporting, although rather plain and utilitarian, gets used quite frequently for my shooting sport applications.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the info, Reno you're right...might save some bucks for a better one, my baikal shoots great, but I want a better one...and catnthehat, you are correct, I do mean ejectors...we I told you I was new to this....lol

Bdft...I stand corrected....thanks eh...hitherto, I shall always refer to my sporting firearms as shotguns.lol

Only in canada would someone refer to a smooth bore as a shotty . When someone comes in to my store looking for shotty's I simple tel them I don't have any in stock maybe they should try cabels

There's a beautiful Ithaca branded SKB 500 on the EE right now that would be much better buy than any of the current entry level O/Us available. It doesn't have screw-in choke but they're not needed anyway. Get a gunsmith it open the chokes up to M/IC or LM/SK2 and you'll be set for anything.

not so my good friend , as the first time I ever saw the term it was used by none other than Robert Ruark many years ago!

It still sounds uneducated or deliberately ignorant to me, to refer to a shotgun as a "shotty", no matter how long the terminology has been around. Referring to cartridges as bullets is equally irritating.

Whilst I'm all over education.....really......you're a dealer, and if a shotgun uneducated buyer comes into your store and asks for a shotty...you kick em out? No offence, but wouldn't it be better to explain the error, then sell them something for your trouble..?.oh and isn't it "cabelas".. See how easy it is....lol
