Years ago, I got my very best groups with both my .22 PPC and .22 BR with Watson bullets (50- and 52-gr. FB). In the intervening time, Watson's equipment and bullet designs were acquired by Bart Sauter of Bart's Bullets. With the current US regulations in place, I can no longer simply order up bullets from a US supplier, and so was wondering whether you guys knew of any source in Canada who might be able to get them in for me. There must be Canadian suppliers with the necessary import license for this. Any suggestions? I've already asked Jerry at Mystic Precision.

the issue is the US Manf. If they do not set up the proper export license and register with the US govt, any of their product in Canada, no matter how it got up here... is ILLEGAL.

That is my understanding anyways...

reloadinginternational.com They are a US company, but have links and all the info on how to import legally. Took 2 weeks to get my import papers from Ottawa.

Got briefly excited when I saw this, but then checked their website - their prices are about 10% higher than Sinclair for the offerings I compared (admittedly a small sample size), and either zero or negative savings with the Canuckbuck at $0.81 US.

Example: Sierra .223 69gn Matchkings
- reloadinginternational = $25.47 US per 100 = $31.44 Cdn, plus 10% export licence fee = $34.58 Cdn, plus brokerage and fairly expensive shipping
- sinclairinternational.com = $22.99 US per 100 = $28.80 Cdn, plus brokerage and shipping (except they won't ship to Canada - just listed here for US price comparison)
- budgetshooters.com = $31.00 Cdn per 100, plus pretty reasonable shipping

For obscure calibres or specific offerings that can't be found up here, reloadinginternational might make sense, but for my needs, it looks like Henry @ Budget will be getting my bullet orders for a long time to come!

ShooNew out.

Like Mystic says, it's not importing. It's the U.S. Federal government. No exporting of reloading components without their Dept. of State export permit and the maker having a Commerce Dept. exporter's licence(about $1800US last I looked). The Canadian market is far too small for most American companies to bother with.
Hornady makes a 53 grain flat based .224" bullet. Sierra makes a 53 grain FB Matchking too. Finding 'em, on the other hand may require you to order 'em. Unless you're married to a flat based bullet, any match bullet will do.
