Finally finished de-cosmolening my new M24

Also had to scrub that putrid black Finnish graphite grease out of the bore - whew! What a job. Bore cleaned up to G+ to VG. Sharp rifling with frosting in the grooves. Might improve after it's shot.
As you can see, she'e a SIG stepped barrel M24, only maybe 5000 ever made along with 3000 unstepped SIGs

- Bohler Stahl M24's are far more common... they made 18,000.
It also still has an M24 type front band retaining bolt which is kinda neat.
This is interesting. Unlike My M91's (this is my first M24), the rear sight is NOT altered for a 150 or 200m position. Also, the Arshini range numbers aren't struck through.
The bolt matches the barrel and there is a CG district No. on the receiver as well as an old CG number stamped into the buttstock.
The mag is HV marked, and as I posted in another thread, this one still has the front band retention bolt, not the more common wood screw.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with this old warrior. She's definitely "been there, done that" and hasn't been reavily rebuilt apart from the stock repairs. I guess you could say I'm pretty pleased with this new acquisition!

Thanks P&S Militaria!
