Pictures with my ISight aren't cutting it so here's the seller's picture and description:

P5060212.jpg

NRF made No.1MkIII*. FTR1953 (in England - not India). Unissued since FTR. Unusual in that the receiver buttsocket has been restamped with the BSA stacked rifles logo. Only one like it I have ever seen, though Ian Skennerton has written me that it's correct and also unusual. Matching with perfect bore.

So far this month, I bought a vet bringback P38 complete rig, I ordered a BD-38 and mag kit from Marstar and I bought a ww2 era SA garand with lockbar sights. A;so picked up an M95 Stutzen and some leather Swede Mauser accessories :)

I want to know what you do and how I can do it.;)

I like the choice on the BD-38, I'm looking forward to a sweet set of pics and details.

Just out

Just made a deal for a mint Polish factory #11 M-44 Mosin-Nagant and a mint MAS 36/51 complete with accessories and original rubber boot recoil pad.
Two very clean, unused rifles, from a great friend, at a great price.
Had to take pics on a grey blanket with the on-camera flash, not the ideal set-up for firearm pics (or for any pics, btw).
MAS parkerization looks grey. In fact, it is more of a greenish dark-grey tinge but I lightened it up for detail and, surprise, there are still Cosmoline traces appearing that do not show in normal light!

Nothing too exotic. I'm a mechanical engineer specializing in automotive emissions technologies. Anyone can do it if they want to go through a relatively tough university program (in my case, 7 years), get experience, and then look for work :)

lol, that easy eh? I'll take a chance and say you're not married. Or, the wife is as gunnutty as you are. She'd have to be to let you take down an MG34 in the sink:eek:

This month I've picked up a mint MAS36/51, and last month was an ex-sniper 91/30 and RC K98. I love 'em. Pics to follow!

ok, here's a photo of the M95 Stutzen I picked up from a fellow CGNer this month. (Actually an Extra-Korps Gewehr Repetier-Stutzen M95). This one is still in the original 8x50R and is all matching, even the handguard :) Never been refurbished and still in nice shape. Also, it's made in 1897 - first year of production for these.

Not often you find these stutzens that have not been reworked to 8x56R and/or converted to side-sling swivels.

It was CAKED in dried grease and dirt, but cleaned up really nicely after quite a bit of detailing work with tiny dental pics and oiled fine bronze wool.

Coming soon to a Milsurps.com entry/article near you! And yes, that is a real Austro-Hungarian Empire flag.

If the recoil was so sharp, are you sure it wasn't in 8x56R?
It's quite possible. I had a very brief lok at the brass which was brand new, possibly new manufacture, Graf's sells it I think. It had a very gradual tapered shoulder if this can be a hint.
What I saw was very good grouping from that rifle, too. The guy said he was looking for the long version for his collection.

I'm willing to bet it was. Those carbines don't absorb recoil very well, and the 8x56R is among the most powerful infantry rounds ever produced.

Some Milshoot I'm going to use a M95 (rifle probably), but it will be with cast bullets and a mild load.

Got my P1907 bayonet for the above rifle from Collector's Source. It's a 1918 dated Wilkinson, with "12 " and "18" stamped underneath, faint crown marking. I'm very disappointed that the blade is bent, it curves very noticeably to one side, about 1/2" of rise when the blade is laid flat.

Anyone know a way to fix this or am I stuck with a curvy bayonet??
