Oculus spotting scope opinions

Hi all,
Im a bit of a rookie when it comes to optics. I have been looking for a spotting scope for the range. I came across a straight eye piece scope 15x-45x and 60mm objective lens by Oculus. I haven't really heard of this brand before. Has anyone here tried it? Please post your thoughts. From looking through it, I didn't think it was terrible. Meaning I put my eye to it and could see out the other side, could adjust strength and fine tune.
I don't have enough money for the leoplod mark 4 spotters scope, not for a while anyways.
Let me know what you all think and how you measure up a good scope to a cheap or crapy one.

I have never heard of Oculus so I am no help on that. I use a Minox MD50 16--30x50mm compact (straight, there is an angled version for the same price) that I got new for about $300 and an old Bausch&Lomb 15-45x60mm that I found on the EE. I think the Minox is good for its price and also nice because it is compact. Old second hand stuff from reputable manufacturers has been looked after, if you can find it, seems to me a safer bet than new equipment built to sell at the lower end of the market.

I use a Celesteron Ultima 20-60 x80 Spotting Scope with angled eye piece. I bought it a few years ago when I shot competitive archery. I needed to be able to tell the difference between my 6 arrows and the other 18 arrows in a target at 90 meters. The arrow nock color is what you can see to tell the difference between the arrows. These are around 1/4"x3/8" in size. I had no problems seeing what I needed to with this spotting scope. I could also see 22 caliber holes at 300 yds on paper when at the range. When I bought it new 8 years ago I paid around $300 so it would probably be near $400 to replace. If I was to buy another spotting scope I would buy this one again in a second . If you are out shopping for a spotting scope pick a small object say half an inch to an inch in size farther away than what you plan to shoot. Focus the scope as clearly as you can and see how defined what you are looking at is and the clarity and brightness. If it's not bright and clear and the object isn't clearly visible then look for another scope.

I have an Oculus 6-24x50 scope on one of my rifles. I haven't had a chance to get to the range with it yet but have had it outside and can't believe how clear and bright it is. Plus for target shooting the crosshairs are super fine compared to most scopes I have looked at.Oculus is Bass Pro's own brand. So far I like this product.

Thanks for your inputs. I was a bass pro today and checked it out. I used it to check out price tags on the other side of the store. The numbers came in clear and as you said Scott it allows for good light. When I take this out to the range I'll make another update. Please continue to post if you have used this scope. Comments welcome.
