Odd? Browning A5 SN

My father is giving me his Browning A5. I was looking up the SN at the Browning site. Dates to 1969 I think but the next letter is a V. According to Browning that V should be either an M (standard weight) or G (light weight).
Does anyone know what V means?

69 is the year and V is the product code for a 12ga mag
