A fellow stop by the shop to give me 220 full medal jacketed bullets that he thought were for an 8 mm x 57 Mauser. He said that they were too large in diameter to seat in the 8mm brass. I measured a bullet and found the following
205.5 grains
1.351 inches over all in length
long boat tail
a cannelure aprox 1/2 way tip to base
diameter at rear end of .331 of a inch
diameter from cannelure to pointed tip 3.21 inches to a sharp point
these bullet show no sign being pulled and are brass solid jacked
Help!

.331" is an odd size, it's like 8.4mm. There are no 8.4mm cartridges that I could easily find, and very few 8.5mm...

What are you using to measure the bullet diameter (Could you be off a few thousandths?)?

8x50R and 8x56R are the only 8mm rounds I can think of offhand that use larger diameter bullets.

8x56R Hungarian and Rumanian military. Lebel takes regular 8mm bullets. I have a 93 and 05 lebels. I also have two 8x56R. Carbines which they would fit. I have also loaded for a Kropatchec that had an over sized bore. Can’t find them to often so I decided to cast my own bullets.
