I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I bought this as a barreled reciever many moons ago, but discovered a few odd things I've never encountered before, as I prepared to assemble it into a working piece......
.... the reciever has no markings whatsoever except for the "No4 Mk1" and "M-1942" ..... (the barrel was put on by the gentleman I got it from, so that is no help...)
and this....
.....the hole for the safety was never finished, or was drilled for a safety of a type I have never seen for an Enfield before. The standard one has no hope of going on there.
Been through dozens of books and online sources, but have not seen anything remotely like it.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
