Has anyone done a torture test on a Norinco 1911? Or has anyone blown one up mistakenly? Just wondering since the friggin thing feels like a tank. I've seen pictures of popular manufactures 1911's after a squib load and a kaboom just not a norc.

I have personally had the slide realease pin break after a couple thousand rounds... but after replacing that with a better one (colt part) & another 2k rounds give or take and not a single other issue. They truly are the best bang for your buck and built like tanks ..havn't seen a torture test yet though.

Barrel link snapped, but after 6k or so (1911A1 Ser 70)
It has been very good.

Friends slide release pin snapped, not sure of round count, prob a few thousand.

As far as a torture test goes, in my mind this would require 3k+ rounds, and in .45 that's getting pretty expensive.

I was shooting old commercial match ammo rapid fire in a Norinco 1911 Sport model. One round stuck in the barrel and the next one caused the barrel to split. It still runs fine with a new barrel. Old barrel is now my chamber gauge on the bench.

That's what I was wondering about. Probably made one hell of a sound. I figured the jesus hard steel would contain any mishaps.

I'm not sure if I would call it a torture test, but, I've lost count on the rounds put thru mine and it still groups and shoots awesome. Worth every penny in my books. The only thing that has worn out are the mags.

Damn it....that's brilliant ..why didn't I think of that.
Thank you sir :)

I think they're made of excellent quality forged steel but they're not unobtanium. I've heard a lot of people claim it was impossible to make a cut for the sights on one whereas gun smiths i have asked shrug at this and say they've never had a problem.

They seem to be superbly reliable, true series 70 clones but some are rough and fitted subparly out of good quality forged steel.
