I got this with my BSA 303 and am wondering if anybody could tell me anything about it. The scope is a Weaver K3, but its the mount that is more intriguing. It says Griffin & Howe INC New York pat.# 1,856,549 May 3 1932

I remember reading about these Griffin & Howe mounts in Jack O'Connor's "The Hunting Rifle" or "The Rifle Book". I'll see if I still have it.

just junk? oh well back in the drawer she goes with the rest of the junk

Be sure to put it in the drawer with the valuable junk. G&H side mounts are hard to find, and highly coveted by some collectors!

You would need the base as well to be able to use it, but it is certainly worth more than a set of Leupolds.

Oh so you were being a smart ass about it being "junk" :D LOL The base is there as it was once attached to my .303 with 3 screws and a ton of jb weld. NO I didnt mount it that way, that how i bought it.
