I've got a M96 Husqvarna with weaver bases #25 and #35. I already had a set or two of weaver rings around but they're all medium - high rings and there's enough clearance here to fit low rings. I purchased some low weaver rings on the EE and they don't fit the bases. Measuring the inside diameter when closed gives .779" for the low rings and .832" for the set of medium rings that fit fine.
Are the widths of weaver bases/rings non standard? Or are these just a really cheap set of rings?
My understanding is that they followed a similar guideline to the later developed picatinny rails: http://www.biggerhammer.net/picatinny/ which would mean that these rings are offsized...
