Just stumbled upon this video in YouTube, it's in some other language in assuming Russian. The guy starts to break down his SKS but before he removes his gas tube I notice he already has the piston laying on the table?? Then after he removes the gas tube he uses his gas piston which was not in the rifle to hammer out some part ive never seen before. Is this some sort of gas tube plug to convert to bolt action? I noticed he did have the sks set up for hunting, was this to squeeze what little accuracy out of the SKS he could?

Turkinator, yes he is using that "plug" for converting sks to "bolt action" mode. He thought it will be more accurate :] It wasn't

he doesn't provide any explanation, just mentions that this plug made of titanium and in comments one guy asked what that plug for - author says "experiment. what if..."
