OEM or after market choke fan

I only have a few guns that have screw in chokes, one has original equipment and the other has Trulocks, my son uses Trulocks as well- we never change them , just take them out to clean and lube the threads occasionally- I HATE screw ins!!:p

Nothing Like Briley but I am spoiled and will now pay for their higher grade ones especially for targets. That being said many factory ones will do the job well also
Plus many guns are factory fitted with briley made chokes and just don't tell
Bottom line shoot the paper and see what your gun does with what you have before putting out any cash

In the guns I've got, I tested them all on paper with at least 5 different rounds each, factory is good.
The one exception is for turkeys, use a .665 xtra full Indian Creek.
 
True about the cash, but what about the quality? Will you be more likely to change an after market sooner due to some for of stainning or corr.
 
I have and use both .for my maxus I shoot browning basic ext made by ? Briley ! for steel waterfowl a set of wad wizzard chokes . My 725 sporting have shot it lots with oem chokes . Really don't see what all drama is about . so the chokes pattern a bit different than marked . I can tell you if I miss a target there is a really good chance it wasn't the chokes fault .

Simple rembolt you have not had guns that came with garbage choke tubes. Try some remingtons ;)

OEM for the standard chokes (I/C, Mod, Full)

Carlson chokes for any (specialty) - rifled, turkey etc
 
I haven't felt the need for anything but the factory choke tubes.

Although the flush tubes from Remington irk me, just not enough to bother getting extended ones.
 
OEM for me. Most OEM are manufactured by Briley anyways for the gun companies. In changing older fixed chokes I have had two done with excellent results and outstanding performance and quality with Briley thin wall flush mounts.
As for specialty chokes like Turkey tubes etc it's a sales gimmick in my eyes and experience. You'd be hard pressed to find a turkey tube or wad wizard that would pattern near as well as the 30" fixed full of my Model 12 Y gun.
