Of All of Canada, why did I have to settle in Ottawa

....... where I can't even legally use an air pistol (bought from Canadian Tire) in my own apartment where I have a pellet catcher consisting of a deep plastic hamper filled with crusheds newspaper and magazines? (Not a single pellet deformed, so well did the "backstop", if you will, catch the pellets.)
Now I am afraid to even think of shooting it once in the apartment (it's only a .177 Marksman, the air pistol, not the apartment).

Anyway, I have joined the RA Gun Club and started handgun firing (I'm taking my CFSC and CRFSC early October).

Now I need to also have my eyes checked for new glasses. My "distance" bi-focals have distance and reading. The fron-sight is blurred. I also have a pair of glasses for computer distance (arm's length, perfect for clarity of front-sight but then I can't see the target's bullseye.) I'm thinking of getting a new pair of gradual glasses. Reading, computer(and handgun front-sight) and distance (target).

I miss my previous Air Pistol (which I left in Cairo, Egypt when I emigrated, thinking that in North America, it wouldn't be so difficult to find guns. Boy, was I ever wrong!) Anyway it's a Diana Model 5 and I really miss it.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you're suffering from that dreaded ailment - advancing years. Go the route I went - scope or red dot everything!

That sucks that you left your diana model 5 behind. I don't know anything about that model, but diana's are available here if you want one the same. Google airgunsource in peterborough ON. They are great.

Looks like you are new around here, so be sure to check out the airgun forum on here, it's great and the guys there will help you out with any questions or sourcing guns and gear.

On the other hand, Ottawa is a nice city and there are lots of free world class museums plus lots of outdoorsy stuff to do in the area. Enjoy! Take some good with the bad.
