I am off to Brescia arriving on the 27th. I am visiting several non mass-produced shotgun makers for several articles. I have one morning left and would like to know which maker would interest you. I would post that one as a finished product on this site.

Mauro Perazzi is on vacation bicycling the Dolomites. I might have lunch with him as I will be not far in Castelfranco, later on. Asolo comes to mind as a neat place for lunch. Time to send him a note! Good idea but the plant is closed for all of August. Longhorn? Steakhouse??? Fausti is closed but I have a two page article in the upcoming ClayshootingUSA after I met Barbara and her husband (Fabio Rizzinni, yes from that shotgun maker family) at La Roue du Roy. The three sisters are off the whole month. Piotti is also closed. It might be a revisit of Beretta Premium gunshop.

I would be interested in the Breda line of semi autos. I believe they invented the inertia recoil system used by Benelli and sold their shares in Benelli to Beretta.

We arrive in Venice at 9.35 Wednesday morning. We will have lunch with Enrico Gamba in Val Trompia or wherever he decides. Later in the afternoon, I meet Jarno (marketing, as Dottore D'Amato is on vacation) at the Beretta Premium gunshop. It is just up the street from Renato Gamba. The next day is Perugini & Visini in the am followed by Luciano Bosis in the afternoon. I had a Russian on my squad at this year's World FITASC with a Bosis Wild. One of the best blued black that I have ever seen with a lovely gold inlay along all the edges., STUNNING! I will post some teasers.

Things change when you fly. Just before flying out Bosis canceled due to some sort of emergency. We arrived late and postponed lunch with Enrico and rescheduled for today. I spent a very nice 2.5 hours plus with Aldo and Jarno of Beretta yesterday. This morning, we spent several hours with Mr Visini of Perugini & Visini. We then had a nice meeting with Renato Gamba and Enrico. Some very interesting facts came out about actual production numbers over the years. Surprisingly, Gamba was one of the major and largest producer of firearms in the Val Trompia for a good number of years. Some bad luck and good luck by others changed the game! Pics will appear when I have some free time. Or got to facebook!
