Just some quick clarifications:
-2 mags come standard
-We will be sticking with 9mm for this order
-The SAF-200 takes the same mags as the SAF and Mini SAF. Sorry for the confusion in the picture
-Fixed stocks are available
-SG 542 is a long ways off. We still need to procure a semi only sample and it still needs to be reviewed by the FRT lab, which can take years nowadays.

Good, this will give me some time so save up for it.

1. I still need to question the mags. Are they metal or the POS polymer units that i already have for my Famae?

2. Parts kits available? Firing pins, springs etc?

+10 or 30 whatever for the SG 542.

Want the Mini but will have to settle for (4) 9mm & (2) .40 S&W mags and perhaps a spare parts kit for both my 9mm and .40 S&W.

And the answer is???

1. I still need to question the mags. Are they metal or the POS polymer units that i already have for my Famae?

2. Parts kits available? Firing pins, springs etc? ...

So just to be certain and because I hate making assumptions, all the mags are polymer then??..

Need an aswer please.. as this will make a world of difference!

Regards,

Man! It seems like every gun dealer is out to empty my wallet :)

So many dealers doing a great job of getting a lot of nice stuff these days, so hard to decide.

Find a couple of these (FD-200, based on the SG 542) and get them up here ASAP for review/certification by the RCMP!!! As I understand, and am sure you already know, these rifles where manufactured/designed by FAMAE to be semi-auto only. You guys are sitting on a gold mine! A non-restricted, accurate, military-style, semi-auto 7.62x51/.308Win rifle will sell ten times better than the restricted and very limited use sub-machinegun style firearms you currently offer.

We will look into it; but last we heard the FD-200 was out of production.

Regards,

All mags are polymer. I'm told improvements were made in the plastic to make the mags more durable.

What's the SAF look like with the rail? Are we talking a different handguard with a rail on top/bottom or a quad rail or something? Do we have up until you put the order in to call dibs on one? Working out finances since I'm trying to buy a house, so might need some time to prioritize/decide if I want to dip into my down payment again.

We are just talking about the standard picatinny rail for optics. They are as seen in the pictures.

We will close the thread once we put our order in.

I need mags, metal construction its possible? + the original metal folding stock for my fixed stock standard 9mm saf, its possible?

Mags are polymer. We will look into specific parts later down the road on subsequent shipments.

Two Questions:

Availability of threaded barrels?

How long for .40?

Maybe the 2nd shipment.

Your best bet is to talk to Herron Arms about a threaded barrel. They do the work for us and they do a good job.

Can Minis be ordered with folding stocks? Does the 200 stock fold?

Mini's come standard with the folding stock. SAF-200 stock does fold.

1. I still need to question the mags. Are they metal or the POS polymer units that i already have for my Famae?

2. Parts kits available? Firing pins, springs etc?

Mini Famae with polymer stock (ugly i know but i have a spare metal folder for it already)for me and depending on the mags maybe another 8.

+10 or 30 whatever for the SG 542.

Polymer; however I'm told improvements were made to make the mags more durable. We will have appropriate parts on hand for warranty work; spare parts kits available for purchase will be made available further down the road.

saf mini, 5 or 10 round mags?

5 round mags

It is also my understanding that they are no longer in production. However, if a few pre-owned ones could be found down there and then used to create samples of the model(s) you want to import, it could help you get the RCMP review/classification started while production tooling is set up?...have some product(s) ready for shipment at the same time as the RCMP is done its evaluation! Maybe?!! It's just a thought! Thanks for working hard at making more products available to us, it's appreciated!

Thanks for the input. Problem is that it is well known that the FD-200 is a semi-auto variant of the SG 542. The FD-200 would be put through the ringer just like a semi-auto only SG 542.

Ok, thanks guys! We put our order in!

Thread closed.

We ordered a few extras, so if your interested in pre-ordering its still not too late! Just send us an email and we'll make sure you get your Famae.

To those who placed an order in this thread already: We have tallied your orders and will be contacting you about a 25% deposit within the coming weeks.
