Official Savage 10 ML-II Load Data

Lets here them. I have some black MMP sabots and 240gr .452" XTP Mags to try soon. I'd like to go with a 300 gr load eventually but I got the xtp mags for cheap. I also have 5477, to try for powder.

I use h4198 powder, 325gr .458 Hornady ftx bullets, Harvester black crushed rib sabots and federal 209 primers in my Savage 10ML-11 (stainless laminate). Average velocity of 2240 fps and 1.5" groups. Sorry, no data for 5477. I switched to .458 bullets and HCRB sabots after I ran out of the MMP short sabots. My barrel is .504" and other combinations I tried were too loose in my barrel.

There is official data in the Owner's manual that came with the rifle. If you don't have the manual you can probably download one from Savage. Also Dougs Message Boards has a wealth of info.

I used 43 grains of SR4759 pushing a Hornady XTP or SST 250 grain bullet. Pretty accurate and effective for me. That is the factory recommended load.

My buddy shoots N110, MMP short sabot and 250gr XTP really well but I haven’t tried it out of mine yet. I may grab some N120 soon and try some 300gr range bullets.
