Looking to add a 45 offset reddot to my competition rifle and was looking for opinions on which one to use. Got options of trijicon rmr and a vortex dot venom viper razor.

Do you shoot to win with your competition rifle or just for fun? If so buy the one that's not going to go down on you when you need it regardless of how wonderful the warranty is.

I wouldn't spend money on a Vortex, if they come as part of a trade I won't say no but I'll never buy Vortex or Bushnell again.
Best thing about them is the warranty and only their top of the line stuff is any good and for the price I'd rather buy another brand that has less chance of needing to use the warranty.
Too many stories of problems and out of four I've owned two have had problems. Mine have all been gen 1 Viper PST models, no bottom end stuff.
I think of Vortex like I do BCL/NEA, they look good on paper and seem fine but then you have problems and regret your purchase.
I still have a PST 1-4 and a 4-16, the 4-16 should go back for service but I can live with a sticky magnification ring. Some day I'll get around to sending it in for service.

RMR all the way :)
