Asking for a friend.
A buddy of mine now has a serious vision problem (Macular Degeneration) in his right eye.
He has always fired from the right shoulder, with his R eye, but can no longer do this.
I suggested he learn to shoot from the L shoulder if he needs to use his L eye now but he cannot/will not do that.
He had an offset scope mount arrangement built that puts the scope about 2 or 3 inches to the left of the barrel.
It sort of works for him, but it has the effect of lowering the Line of Sight as compared to a regular set-up.
I did some sniffing around and found these threads:
https://www.accurateshooter.com/optics/off-set-scope-mounting-rai/
https://www.buckmasters.com/Magazines/GunHunter/Articles/ID/115/Sure-Cures-for-Wrong-Eye-Dominance
The second link shows what appears to be a multi-part setup. Pic rail, 45 degree extension, and regular Pic system rings.
Has anyone tried this, and is it durable?
This looks to be on an AR-15, and buddy wants to use this on a .338 WinMag!
TIA.
